Overview

Steeped in Cambridge’s publishing and academic history, the Pitt Building was commissioned in honour of William Pitt the Younger, who, in 1783, became Britain’s youngest Prime Minister aged just 24. Completed in 1833 the building housed the printing and publishing offices of Cambridge University Press for over 100 years.

For the past 20 years the Pitt Building has been operating as a highly regarded meetings and event venue in central Cambridge and has recently undergone an extensive and sympathetic refurbishment programme. This has resulted in a striking blend of heritage and innovation, as well as increased capacity, new flexible layouts, and state-of-the-art technology. This transformation cements the position of this historic building as a top-tier choice for conferences, meetings, panel discussions, corporate events, exhibitions and public launches right in the heart of the city.
